Upper Potomac Area Agency on Aging

Enhancing the happiness and standard of living for older adults in West Virginia.

Our Mission

The Upper Potomac Area Agency on Aging was designed by the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services to provide the necessary support to county services providers in the Eastern region of West Virginia.

The UPAAA works to advocate on behalf of persons 60 years of age and older by identifying their needs and creating plans for meeting their needs through a system of in-home and community services. The goal is to allow seniors to maintain their independence and assist in their social wellbeing.

Our job at UPAAA is to administer the state and federal funds that provide for these services via county service providers. Our region is made of 15 counties, Barbour, Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Lewis, Mineral, Morgan, Pendleton, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, and Upshur.

Senior centers in this 15-county region offer a variety of services, including congregate and home delivered meals, activities, adult day care, employment services, volunteer opportunities, Medicare counseling, transportation services, in-home care, and more. Please contact us to verify which of these services are available in your area.
