Job Title: Project Administrator

Department: Planning and Development

Reports to: Executive Director

FLSA status: Non-exempt

SUMMARY

The Project Administrator is responsible for assisting local governments with the development of community facility projects, planning projects, economic development projects and other tasks as directed by the Executive Director. 

​

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Prepare grant applications for local governments

  2. Prepare loan applications for local governments

  3. Develop community facility projects with local governments

  4. Develop planning projects with local governments

  5. Develop environmental reviews for local governments on business facility projects

  6. Prepare required reporting for local projects, federal, state, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Proven administrative and management skills.

  2. Experience working with older persons and volunteers and/or children.

  3. A background in community development and/or social services delivery programs.

  4. Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The position requires a bachelor’s degree from a college or university or an associate degree with related experience. 

​

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

​

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

  • REASONING ABILITY

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    • Valid West Virginia Drivers License

This position may require extensive travel, including overnight stays throughout the state and occasionally outside the state.
